One of the most eagerly awaited moments of Christmas in Barcelona is the celebration of its most famous fairs, with three essential events that fill the city with festive spirit: the Santa Llúcia Fair, the Sagrada Familia Christmas Fair and the Port Vell Christmas Market.

The Santa Llúcia Fair, with more than 235 years of history, is the oldest and most symbolic fair in Barcelona. From the end of November to the 23rd of December, this fair fills the Pla de la Seu in front of the Cathedral with more than 300 stalls organised into four sectors: nativity scenes and figures, greenery and decorations, sweets and crafts. In addition to its commercial offer, the fair includes traditional activities, such as nativity scene workshops, a giant “tió” and parades with the Carassa de Nadal, that hands out sweets to the children.  

Meanwhile, the Christmas Fair at Sagrada Familia, located in the square of the same name, combines its Christmas atmosphere with the majestic backdrop of the basilica. This market specialises in Christmas products, typical foods such as nougat and cured meats, and decorative items. Finally, the Port Vell Christmas Market, located in the Moll de la Fusta, stands out for its spectacular decoration, which includes a 31-metre-high Christmas tree and a panoramic Ferris wheel.
