Grup Plana adds 45 ECO-labelled coaches to its fleet for Costa Dorada and Garraf area

Grup Plana, formed by BusPlana and BusGarraf, closes 2024 with a new step forward towards sustainable mobility: acquiring 45 coaches with the ECO environmental label, a distinction awarded by the DGT to identify vehicles with lower environmental emissions. The company has invested more than 5.5 million euros in these coaches, which are powered by gas and diesel.

Sustainable services for Costa Dorada and the Garraf region

Almost forty of these vehicles with the ECO label are already in circulation and cover essential routes for the day-to-day life of the population. On Costa Dorada, they have a special presence on the interurban lines of Reus, Cambrils, Salou, Vila-seca, Constantí and Tarragona, as well as linking Costa Dorada with Barcelona. In the Garraf area, these vehicles connect municipalities such as Vilanova i la Geltrú, Sant Pere de Ribes, Sitges, Canyelles and Vilafranca del Penedès.

More ECO-labelled coaches will be added to these routes in the first quarter of next year.

More than 170 coaches renovated in two years

In the last two years, Grup Plana has renovated 170 of the 600 coaches in its fleet and has more than 315 vehicles with Euro 6 environmental certification, which include advanced technology to minimise the ecological footprint through particle filters, gas treatment systems and optimised fuel consumption.

ECO vehicles are adapted for people with limited mobility. More than 90% of Grup Plana's public transport coaches are adapted for people with limited mobility.
