What's new for 2024  

Mobile World Congress has firmly consolidated the city of Barcelona as an international benchmark and as the world's mobile capital. This new edition is being held this week, from the 26th to the 29th of February.   

Throughout the more than 2,400 exhibitors that you will find at this first-class event, you will find out about the mobile phone launches that are about to hit the market. This way, you will be able to see their features up close, try them out and decide which one is going to be your next purchase in 2024.   

Many well-known brands take advantage of this perfect occasion to present their newest and most exclusive products to their customers. Some of the features to highlight in their upcoming launches are the leading role of artificial intelligence in the new mobile phones; the incredible cameras that will capture even the most distant element, with optimum quality; the endless batteries; and other novelties such as the most futuristic transparent items; screens that fold; and virtual and augmented reality.  

Artificial intelligence, the star of this year's show  

In recent years, the strength of artificial intelligence (AI) has been growing exponentially, forming a fundamental part of the development of many companies, which incorporate tools to make their communication as human as possible.   

During this event, you will have the opportunity to learn about the different perspectives of experts in the sector, who will assess the impact of AI, its ethical principles, and how it can address the different current problems in the world, such as, for example, climate change.

All of them will actively participate in exciting conferences on current events and the challenges of the new technological era.   

Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO)  

As part of Mobile World Congress, Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) will also be presented to companies that have stood out for their innovation and product development. The GLOMO awards were first presented in 1996 and are now in their 29th edition in 2024.   

The award categories are mobile technology, digital, device, Tech4Good, government leadership and outstanding achievement. All of them have different and more specific awards, achieving a quite extensive list of winners in each edition, such as, for example, best mobile network infrastructure; best mobile security solution; best mobile innovation for connected health and well-being; best mobile innovation for cities; best innovation in AI; best smartphone; best use of mobile for accessibility and inclusion; outstanding contribution of mobile telephony to the UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals); and best mobile innovation to improve the lives of children and young people, among many others.   

Talent Arena  

MWC 2024 includes, in its pavilion number 3, the 'Talent Arena' event, a space dedicated to showcasing your company and creating new links with professionals in the sector, to grow your business. Its programme includes a wide variety of conferences to learn about the most relevant trends in the field of mobile telephony and new technologies; and workshops to put your programming skills into practice, under the guidance of mentors specialised in this sector, among other activities.
