BusPlana activates the high season in the routes Costa Dorada-Camp de Tarragona Station

BusPlana activates the high season in the routes Costa Dorada-Camp de Tarragona Station
  • Daily Services Increase from 6 to 64 Starting This Saturday, June 1
  • The Costa Dorada-Camp de Tarragona Station line will be divided into two separate routes to speed up the service
  • These trips are in addition to the 93 daily services from Tarragona, 52 from Reus, and 57 from Valls

BusPlana is activating its high season schedules on Saturday, 1st of June. Thus, the routes connecting the main points of Costa Dorada with the train station are practically multiplied by 10, from the current 6 to 64 daily trips.

Moreover, the route that during the low season runs between Cambrils-Vilafortuny-Salou-PortAventura-La Pineda-Vila-seca-Reus-Camp de Tarragona Station has been divided into two, in order to offer faster services, as per below:

  • Cambrils - Salou - PortAventura – Camp de Tarragona Station, with 32 trips daily.
  • La Pineda - Salou – Camp de Tarragona Station, with 32 trips daily.

In this way, BusPlana responds to the arrival of travellers and tourists who spend their holidays on Costa Dorada, with bus stops at strategic locations near hotels along the coast and also at PortAventura hotels, among others.

The number of travellers and tourists who travel by bus from the Camp de Tarragona station or to get there has not stopped growing in recent years. Last summer (June to September) nearly 30,000 people travelled on the BusPlana lines that connect the high-speed train station with Salou, Cambrils and La Pineda (Vila-seca).

The routes from Costa Dorada are added to the many daily BusPlana expeditions from other parts of the territory to the Camp de Tarragona Station. Thus, every working day there are 93 departures from Tarragona city, 52 from Reus and 57 from Valls, to provide a wide range of connections for residents of the area.

It is for this reason that passenger access to the Camp station, by public transport provided by BusPlana, has not stopped growing in recent years, rising from 16% in 2016 to 40% today, according to a study by the URV (Rovira i Virgily University).

Many users already enjoy these regular line services by means of the Tarragona ATM multi-trip cards.

60 years of service

BusPlana operates these regular lines from Costa Dorada, Tarragona city, Valls and Reus to Camp de Tarragona Station through the public concessions of Generalitat de Catalunya.
